Adding New Script Templates
Answer
After you have downloaded the compressed file, double-click it to uncompress it. You should see the template icon(s).
Windows:
Open these folders:
My Computer (XP) or Computer (Windows 8 / 7 / Vista)
Local Disk C
Program Files
Final Draft 8 / 7 / 6 / 5
Stationery
Scripts
Move the new template(s) into the Scripts folder and close all the windows. When you open Final Draft and go to File > New from Stationery > Scripts (v.8) or File > New > Scripts (v.7 / 6 / 5/4), you will see the new template(s) on the menu.
Macintosh:
If you have v.8.0.3.1 / 8.0.3:
Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Final Draft 8;
Right-click or Control + click on the Final Draft application icon and choose Show Package Contents;
Go to Contents > Mac OS > Data > Stationary;
Drag the template(s) into the Scripts folder.
NOTE: These instructions do not apply to the Mac App Store version of Final Draft.
If you have v.8.0.2 and earlier, open these folders:
Macintosh HD
Applications
Final Draft 8 / 7 / 6 / 5
Stationery
Scripts
Move the new template(s) into the Scripts folder and close all the windows. When you open Final Draft and go to File > New from Stationery > Scripts (v.8) or File > New . Scripts (v.7 / 6 / 5/4), you will see the new template(s) on the menu.
NOTE: Templates created for v.8 will not work with v.7 / 6 / 5.
